Talk me down from the ledge. I truly think ND is better that UGA, but...

I fear another late-game meltdown ala 2005 USC, 2014 Florida State and 2023 Ohio State.

But maybe this time it will be different...?

Their new QB has now had like a month to practice, so I believe he will be dangerous. They have a great secondary, and their front seven although as athletic as always has looked like a Bob Davie unit at times.

Their OL has kind of sucked this year. But I am not sure our front seven can exploit that. Especially with Mills gone.

It will be a “dog fight” no bad pun intended. Could go either way. Finding a way to win such a game

It’s the one area we struggled in every big game in the past I don’t think we dominate. I would like like to see us hold even at least and make it a slugfest.

I think we have an advantage with Riley if we can give him a chance to throw.

This is where our coordinator ls earn their keep. Denbrock needs to call a good game and keep things balanced.

We lost to them by a combined 7 points in 2017/2019. I would argue that those UGA teams were better than this one, and this ND team is better than those in 2017 / 2019.

At least this is what I keep telling myself.....

"Get off the ledge pussy!"

We're either going to win or lose, but the direction of the program looks great going forward regardless, so be a man, put on the big boy pants, and show the same courage that is expected from our Lads when they step into the arena.

He must be a high 3, low 4 at best. If Carr does not start sometime in 2025 or early 2026, he is a back up.

If we play cleanly, where the offensive line does a good job, and where Riley Leonard doesn't make bad decisions, then we'll win.

If we turn the ball over too much, or if the offensive line stinks up the field, we'll lose.

When two teams, especially in football, are evenly matched, the game is a coin flip where one will lose. Over time, they will both win their share. But in one sample, either can win. If you do not want your life to hang on the result, understand that and enjoy the great play on both sides of the ball by some pretty good and talented athletes. Enjoy a win if it is ND, but a loss is not the end of the world, especially in the game is decided by either team in the last minute or two. Athletes thrive on the competition and trying to win each play, learn, get better, and win the next play, or shot or possession, or at bat, or...........well you get it. Great athletes will do it all day because it is a passion to compete...and not necessarily win. Hopefully, you will enjoy this special group of young men, what they have done, and the thrills they have provided. Notre Dame football is all about the path less traveled, and this team has certainly taken a unique path. Go Irish!!!

You could also look at the common opponent, GA Tech.

If we had our DL and OL intact, it would be an even game. I suspect we will not be able to overcome our injuries.

Our best hope is that the moment is too big for their backup qb.

Thread Level: 3

I believe this is correct. In addition, ND will need to control the offensive LOS, thus the clock.

We need 200+ passing yards and a couple of passing TDs. Otherwise their massive DL is going to shut us down. USC showed our defense can be exposed pretty readily.
