With all due respect to Jack Coan, Sam Hartman, and Riley Leonard, I'm ready for a homegrown superstar QB, and there's one guy in particular--CJ Carr. Do we know if he'll be given a full shot to win the QB role in the spring?

The answer is YES unless they decide to go portal.

We likely have guys that can do as well as the available qbs in the portal.

I understand this but if we should go below 3 QBs on the roster, he could go for backup.

I don't mean to flame, but is that really a serious question? He is the one the staff is pinning their hopes on to be the difference maker. You can be sure that he will be given every opportunity to win the job.

For the last decade that has meant, flat out given the job; competition not included.

How it recovered from surgery remains to be seen.

So was it Tommy John surgery?

But that was for a fracture in the metatarsal bone of his foot.

Everything that I saw was that he didn't need surgery for his elbow.

Should we disregard what Steve has given us in actual game pressure situations?

Nope. He's proven. Carr has high fanfare. If he wins so be it but Angeli has real game film.

If Angeli doesn't portal it, I bet he wins the starting job; makes good decisions and throws well

Should not disregard. Smart QB. Decent skills. Maybe a Tommy Rees type of role?

If we had him in 2013, that would have easily been a BCS Bowl season.

the strip sack wasn't recovered by them. In fact I don't know how the guy from their team missed getting it. Thank God he didn't get it. I can see the arguments for Angeli he has looked very solid against the competition. Angeli but be more ready to face Miami in the beehive where you know those assholes and their even more "assholish" fans will be all pumped up and playing as close as dirty as possible. They are my least favorite team of all time although Michigan is more often because we have played them more in recent years.
