Is Faison wearing himself too thin, or just staying in great shape?

He’s a young guy. But I worry about injuries.

Definitely an excellent athlete.

He's been on football scholarship since '23. Lacrosse is his side hustle.

Really? You ask him? If his "true 1A is lacrosse" he'd still be on a lacrosse scholly and not taking

scholarship limits. i believe it was a result of what Miami did coming off probation in the early 2000’s

Thread Level: 7

Miami had that perfect scenario to be able to pull that off.

First, while their Women's Track and Field team was always terrific, the Men's squad was not in the mid-90's. That made the scholarships for that sport a bit more expendable to the Athletic Department to have some flexibility with "borrowing" a few to help Football. Second, since their recruiting base has always been pretty fertile for skill-position talent, it was considerably easier for them to nab a couple of athletes each year locally, and spend their recruiting cash and evaluation time on the guys in the trenches. Not every school would have had that advantage back when it was legal.

Credit where due, it wasn't against the rules at the time, and it absolutely worked. They'd have never had Santana Moss or Reggie Wayne without it.

Good info, thanks. I stand corrected ChrisB.

My statement was based on rule mentioned above and I saw somewhere (sorry, don't recall where) he's considered a much much higher level Pro Prospect for Lacrosse than football.

Full transparency I really didn't know pro Lacrosse was a thing before seeing that, but their opinion even as people who wanted him on the football field for us is that his post collegiate future is most likely in Lacrosse..

And as a practical matter FB/BB are the two sports that hand out full scholarships.

For non-profitable sports, most kids don’t get full rides. So, even if no NCAA requirement, the FB scholarship is the better deal.
