Unfortunately for him, the guy he thinks is the best recruiter he's ever been around has a lot of massive holes in his roster, because of poor recruiting. Hence the 15-11 record the last 2 seasons.

Not part of "that" Bowden family.
I saw Bowden on that "Wake Up The Echoes" podcast. I really had never seen him or heard him before this moment.
He came across as an arrogant not-it-all. I was actually surprised that he was so highly regarded after observing him on the show.
It's probably good he's gone because eventually people like that become cancerous to an organization.
...that particular moment.
Bowen is devaluing himself long term...but lacks the self-awareness to understand that...

Other coaches see this, and they know Freeman. They will have little doubt what he would say about them if he would say it about Freeman.
Also, Riley most likely isn’t going to be there in 2 years. The new coach is unlikely to keep him.

It seems he wants to have experienced Coordinators and let them do his thing. He leads the team, establishes culture sets the tone, etc.
Perhaps Riley is more hands on when it comes to recruiting. That doesn't make him a better coach. In fact, the funny thing is that Riley hasn't been especially productive when it comes to the success of his teams despite his alleged "recruiting" prowess.
As for Bowden's comment, take for it's worth. How many head coaches has the guy worked for? He is a sales guy, pure and simple. He isn't an evaluation guy. Our program will be stronger as we move forward. I suspect Freeman knew where he wanted to go with the player recruitment side and Bowden wasn't going to be the #1 guy anymore.

matter". Besides, he's not coming back... He has gotten a couple of WR's that were down to ND or
Give him enough money, and he'll say whatever his puppeteers want him to say. He got his 30 shekels of silver, just like some purple faced character did, and will do as he is commanded.
Given how Coach Freeman's players play early, and play a lot, while also producing real results, I'm less likely to believe Bowden's assertions that he doesn't evaluate talent.
