Strong arm, quick release, accurate throws, even on the run. The man has superb mechanics.
We're in a hell of a lot better QB situation than we ever were under Brian Kelly.

I'm REALLY looking forward to ND QB's who can sling it.

maybe Book, I think every QB got steadily worse under Kelly.
If there's a compliment to be paid, I think it allowed athletic Q.B.'s to perform functionally pretty quickly in it. It wasn't complicated, and like most spread offenses, gives you some easy throws and some opportunities to run the ball.
But there was a ceiling. Kizer, Book, Wimbush, Golson were all largely the same Q.B.'s in subsequent seasons after their first as starters. You can look at the stats....none appreciably improved as their careers went on. None really made a leap.

My kid does a good amount of QB training so I watch a lot of drills along with 7X7 and HS football, and there are plenty of kids who are great at the drills but are less impressive as gametime QBs. Either their game play or decision making aren't quite there.
I agree with you though in terms of the effort and QB quality - hoping one of these kids pans out.
Ron Paulus. He had skills and was a perfect practice QB. Come game time? Not so much.
