Most of the way through the Spring game

Angeli / Carr pretty even - slight edge to Angeli having real college game action and O moved a little more with him, but both looked good.

Minchey is clear 3rd and it’s not even close. I don’t understand all the upside talk and hype? He’s very inconsistent and had spotty accuracy. The offense stalls too much under him.

Payne looked fast and well recovered. Unfortunately, a full house in the backfield.

Price looks jacked, even more than usual. Noticeably thicker. May be a tad slower.

Burris looks like he’s gonna be a good one.

Young looks like a young Frank Gore not quite as dynamic, again a crowded backfield.

Talich looked good, I was assuming the walk-on hype was just that.

We have a void at TE for the first time in a decade. Larsen looks interesting though.

Hobbs was active, looks like we have some DBs to replace Morrison. Good to see this group finally deep after 20yrs of an abyss.

The transfer FG kicker was shaky. Not a good sign. Lots of Knuckleballs off his foot. He doesn’t seem to have a big leg either. Very mediocre. This could hurt during the season. A lot of work (help) needed at this position.

Marcus put on some recruiting pounds in the offseason.

I think it should be Angeli’s job to lose because he is the only QB with experience and he had success in that experience. Having said that, Carr outplayed him in this spring game. Take it with a grain of salt I suppose. Carr looks better the others but what matters is when the lights come on. We shall see.

Burris is definitely someone to watch.

Agree with both. It's the first time we've had legit QBs and team talent is strong.

Hopefully he can take the job this summer and never look back.

I think Minchey gives you the Leonard scramble factor. Is Raridon #1 TE?

Agree with you though. Minchey made some good plays and he does have the capacity to keep plays alive, but I’d put him behind Angeli and Carr. My guess is Angeli is #1 but they transition to Carr during the season.

Good point re TE. That’s been a staple for us.

I just don't see any of the hype of Minchey.

The only way to "transition" to Carr during the season is for Steve to lose.

That's no fun.

Start Carr from the jump.

That's not true, the team didn't lose in 2018, and switched from Wimbush to Book

In a perfect world, yes, but do you give a rookie QB Miami then A&M?

Wouldn't be smart given there wasn't that big a disparity between them and what we've seen Angeli do

He’s also had two full springs and a fall camp plus scout team action before he got hurt last season against the national title runner-up defense.

ND has the overall talent to start Carr and be even better than last years team.

Freeman wants a team that can win a national title.

Carr has that ceiling.
