RIP Wink Martindale.....
....you may be wondering why this post would belong on the football board.
Well, back in the day, I made the trek with my fellow ND buddies to Memphis to watch the Irish take on BC in the Liberty Bowl - to this day, still the coldest that I have ever been at a sporting event (people had dragged the metal trash barrels into the bathroom at the stadium and were burning programs to stay warm).
The trip would have been a big disappointment if not for Wink Martindale's Bar & Restaurant which welcomed us ND students with open arms. Great southern hospitality. RIP Wink.
