Why does ND hardly ever start the season w/ a home game?

Going all the way back to 2018, ND has only had 2 true home games to start the season.

2018- Michigan
2019- @ Louisville
2020- Duke (covid season)
2021- @ FSU
2022- @ Ohio State
2023- Navy (@ Ireland)
2024- @ Texas A&M
2025- @ Miami
2026- Wisconsin (@ Lambeau Field)

ND fans were concerned about ND dealing w/ the Texas heat at the start of last season & rightfully so but I think the South Florida heat/humidity on 8/31 will be a much bigger concern.

Miami cancelled @ND last year, so why is this "makeup" game not @ND?

That’s true for the opponent and ND.

Only see it getting worse as that is the only time to get big programs to play out of conference.

At this point, I think it’s just the scheduling model. As for FL weather,

That stadium is open to air, but mostly closed in Plus it’s a night game so don’t expect the humidity to be a factor.

Our depth will overcome this with fresh backups and rotation. Be nice to have some home openers!

I may not wear underwear.

Kind of reminds me of when Rocket Ismail played for Notre Dame

You do realize that in the SE the humidity rises after dusk?

It’s open but mostly closed in….and your point is?

It’s hot as shit in Miami in late August and it barely cools off at night. That being said these are world class athletes pulling in big $$$ with NIL. Suck it up.

Correct. In fact, it does that throughout the temperate zones.
