Michigan adds two players
That esteemed academic institution adding two mercenaries mid-semester.
'College' football is a farce. B10 and NCAA could not be reached for comment.

fix. Whittingham is not a cheater, so Michigan has lost its most effective tool for success. They will stay atop the mediocre teams of the BIG10, but behind the BIG10 teams with a chance at the playoff.
On what planet can a college team add players via transfer, after the season starts?
It's still technically within the rules.
That, plus he wants to salvage the season as much as he can.
If he manages to win the rest of the games, nobody in the Michigan fanbase will care about this.
Whittingham has been around for a long time, and isn't one to make career-ending mistakes on a whim, so I'm guessing he carefully did his homework.
The temporary restraining order issued to those players allowed them to transfer mid-semester, and apparently those guys are now enrolled at Michigan, but aren't signed to the program just yet. It's up to Whittingham to sign and add them to the roster before the deadline for the next game.
It's not the same as the TRO granted to the LSU players, since those guys were enrolled at the start of the fall semester.
Not surprisingly, it was a court right in the middle of Ann Arbor that granted that granted this rather generous TRO...
Without the TRO's, this can be done only at the NAIA level, and someone can be eligible mid semester, but there's a ton of paperwork, and a lot of hurdles that have to be cleared. It rarely happens, and even then, we're talking about players who wouldn't even be on a FBS roster as a walk-on.

Shame this is what it's become though.
