Denbrock has to do one of two things: get more creative and aggressive with his play calling; step down. How vanilla can a guy get, especially when you are behind by double digits? Mike, this team has talent. Start using it and getting the best guys on the field. Was Jonaz Walton unable to go or was he not used? If he simply wasn't used, it's a travesty. He coulda had 300 yards last night the way he runs. Can ya tell I'm disappointed? How could a team as good as ND come out flat against a #10 team? I bet we left 35 points on the field last night. I'm in a funk today.

Also needs to run more power. No idea why we reverted but these numbers don't lie.

Wisconsin: 4 Gap, 26 Zone runs--> 3.47 ypc
Next 5 Games: 92 Gap, 87 Zone--> 5.32 ypc
BYU: 6 Gap, 20 Zone--> 3.83 ypc
We have a power OL. Run power.

Denbrock calls big games to keep it close. That alone is why I think he needs to go.

That and every other coach in America trust young players in big games, except Denbrock. He coaches scared.

  Saw it with Riley Leonard. Didn’t use him to throw downfield until we were getting hammered by OSU

The non-use of Walton ought to get him fired.

How does your best RB get in on only plays?
We know that Denbrock loves to pass but this is getting out of control. 30 runs vs 49 passes is a joke.
But we all know that Freeman won't do anything. I beginning to question his ability as a football coach versus a "developer of men" vis-a-vis Willingham.

  It's not only the RB-rotation that is a problem.

  From Pete Sampson's X feed:
  "Baffled by the state of Notre Dame’s receiver room. This wasn’t supposed to be an elite group, but it felt deeper than past seasons.
  "Instead, Notre Dame asks Jordan Faison (79 snaps), Jaden Greathouse (79) and Micah Gilbert (77) to run a marathon at altitude. Zero rotation."
  I believe Faison was so gassed he asked to come out during the final drive.
  I don't know if it's the lack of good competition, but the whole program has become stale and predictable.

    The fascination this staff seems to have with Greathouse is a mystery to me. Greathouse and Gilbert seem to have the same skills and we need to use WRs that are different from each other. The misuse of the WR room is probably as bad as the RBs.

      8 catches for 125, it's not an obsession, he's a really good football player.

      How quickly folks forget what he did against OSU 2 years ago.
      Kid has a down year because of injury and now he sucks?
      Unreal.

    Our wide receiver coaching and development is lacking.
