I have had time to calm down and I still replay every game when we lose in my mind. But,

Why did he not insist that his best RB get more than 5 carries? And why did he let Ash do his soft zone coverage that has never worked? And why did he let Denbrock keep screwing the pooch with fade passes to tight ends that can't catch?

He had a job to do Saturday to overrule his coordinators in obvious situations and he didn't. That's on him. And it's also on him if his team doesn't play with their hair on fire. He just stood there looking stoic, you know, like Ty Willingham. This reflected on the players who also played without any fire or passion. Look on the opposite sideline and you will see and feel the fire and determination in Sitake's face. Good news is that Freeman knows how to get him and his team to rebound after such a loss. Still a very good HC, imo.

He's coaching a professional team now. The pleasantries really don't matter. It's the results that count.

I once met CJ's grandpa one very early Sunday morning while on a long run down beside the Huron River outside Ann Arbor. He was just out for a constitutional but was gracious enough to chat with me for a good half Hour and to reflect on his experiences as a head coach. Maybe as a foreshadowing of his grandson's later choice of school, he praised Notre Dame effusively as a program and especially as an institution. Ultimately, his only regret was that fans took the game too seriously... especially after it was over. THAT'S MATURITY FOLKS.

And gameplanning for every big game is so conservative. Like "Lets not lose this".
