Doesn't ND have an analytics team that might say, hey coach, your zone scheme doesn't work?
after the 1st or 2nd series, ND, IMO, should have gone man. They went man in the 2nd half and held BYU to only 7 points... NEXT time, we got BYU.
...from what I have gathered, is they were concerned about Bear's ability to run and in a man D the DBs would have their backs to the line of scrimmage and would be less able to cover a scrambling QB. Again, just what I have picked up...maybe not the whole story.
Easy for us to pick apart, but it seemed clear to an armchair idiot like me that Bear was feasting on our zone D and we needed to change something up.
Losing Boubacar really hurt. Our four man rush got zero pressure.
We better figure this out, and fast. Mensah is putting up video game numbers this year. I am reasonably optimistic that Moore can neutralize Toney but we will need to account for the others.
