This topic is what’s wrong with rankings. BYU beat us head to head and then lost to a poor team
people say they had a let down so they deserve a break. To me their loss is a very poor one and negates the fact they beat us. Same thing Miami last year.
U can’t use head to head when one team has a shit loss because it doesn’t matter who they lost to and that makes no sense. We lost to a top 10 they lost to a team that won’t be ranked. That has to matter

Notre Dame played 8th ranked BYU in a hostile home environment and narrowly missed a W. BYU lost in 2 overtime in a hostile home environment to an albeit unranked team, but a dangerous team in a somewhat predictable trap game against UCF, coming off a physically and emotionally demanding win against ND. I can see the justification of both rankings as long as both teams win-out in the regular season. Personally, I would have put thought ND would be 8th and BYU 9th.

That will settle it once and for all. The game ain't over till it's over.
