Marcus just had a press conference. It did not instill hope.

There was no energy, there was no positivity. He had a hangdog look. His head was down and he spoke in a stuttering and mournful manner. There was a funereal atmosphere in the room.

For God's sake, Marcus, instill some life and juice into the room. Give us some hope! If you're bummed out, so are we!

Don't look for a personnel shakeup to give us some new life. No, they have to be more consistent in practice to get on the field, he said.

Of course, the lapdog reporters, don't have the stones to ask a real question such as: Why don't we see any misdirection or creativity in our playcalling?

Can not our head coach give us some hope and positive vibes instead of looking like a dead man walking?

Some of you guys really need to back away from the ledge.

He was humble and on point. A rah-rah speech would have been hilarious.

You guys want creativity. If the Irish don't execute basic plays, how the hell are they going to execute your imaginary plays?

Carr missed two wide open guys for TDs. How would creativity have trumped execution?

The players don't lack confidence. They need to play better.

You have assumed the role of the board apologist for our coaching failures.

Marcus didn't look humble, he look defeated.

If you want examples of creativity, consider these two examples from the BYU OC that lead to easy TDs:

      1. Bear threw a lateral pass, which was then thrown back to him, for an easy jaunt to the end zone. Misdirection and creativity triumphed.

      2. BYU ran a reverse to Legend Glasker, a true freshman and the fastest man on the team, and it surprised us once again.

When will we ever see Denbrock do something like this?

Our last great coach was Lou Holtz. He would have energized the room if he were at today's PC. There would be an air of resolve and optimism afterwards, not what we saw today.

You are being ridiculous, evasive and comically innaccurate

Chris Zorich, this week said that Holtz told his players that when teams use
trick plays it was because they believed they couldn't match ND talent wise.

The key to stopping those plays is to hold your assignments and execute.
        That was not done.

You never answered how Carr not executing to two wide open receivers is trumped by trick plays.

I'm not going to apologize for the players. They are professionals. They need to play better.

And our true fans need to show up and drown out Miami's signal caller.
We don't need fair weather fans.
