Can we all agree a bye week after a loss sucks? No idea if it’s better for team or not.
Would love to have a bye before a big game than before navy.

I don't think we could have a more advantageous schedule this year, and we still lost to BYU.
I also feel like we don't do great coming out of a bye week under Freeman, so having the Navy game before Miami is a decent tune up, although their style of play always seems to result in some injuries.

I think its good to have a game before Miami. Work the kinks out
Kinda like the bye week in the playoffs seems to be a disadvantage. Teams lose their focus or something. Playing seems to fine tune them. Especially tackling blocking wise.

What sucks even more is having to play the Midshipmen.
I see no value at all in continuing to schedule this contest.

It's not about you.
"Beyond the field, the tradition reflects mutual respect and gratitude between two institutions with intertwined histories
It has produced memorable games, standout players, and a unique post‑game ritual that transcends competition.
In short: Notre Dame–Navy is more than a football series — it’s a living tradition born from wartime solidarity, sustained by a century of annual play, and honored with a shared ritual of sportsmanship that continues to this day."

It's not as bad now that they can't cut block and take out a few players each time you play them.

In this case I would say yes. Evaluate everything. Then have time for Navy prep.
Plus, players went home and I think that was needed. Just to regroup.
