Is there a box-and-one type pass defense in football?

Would it make sense every time ND plays zone against Miami to have Leonard Moore play man defense on Malachi Toney?

I think slowing Toney down is extremely important. Limiting him to under 100 yards receiving and no more than one TD catch would be huge.
