This #1 Miami is akin to #1 Clemson in 2020: both play without their best player.

Hey, a schedule is an empirical reality. A ranking is totally contrived. Which is why ND and Kentucky are both solid favorites against teams that are ranked higher than them. At least Kentucky and Alabama will mix it up with some really tough games on the schedule. ND and Miami, not so much.
BTW, I don't blame Miami especially because when they scheduled Florida State, Virginia Tech and Clemson, those programs were playing at a very high level.

unstoppable Charlie Ward and though FSU took an early lead, we dominated them. Yet we almost blew it by going into prevent near the end, but we prevailed. As a ND fan I am saying we will prevail again!

If Brian Magee intercepts Ward in the endzone, ND beats FSU 31-17. Instead, the ball went through his hands & the FSU WR catches it for a TD on the ricochet making the score 31-24 making the game appear closer than it was.
