Is already dead, just doesn’t want to admit it
Started running toward the cliff with being okay paying coaches millions of dollars and jumped off with gusto when they decided to pay the athletes/allow NIL.
Lucky? for them it’s a long fall and may take a year or two to hit bottom. -

They had a very short and meaningless life span... which may be true for the sport itself

If only a few survive... they become glorified minor league franchises.
