He had surgery, but allegedly, it was a minor procedure.
He should be fine for fall camp.
I'm no medical doctor, but the injury were a high ankle sprain, then this kind of procedure takes about 3 months before you can do any "cutting" sports such as football, tennis, etc.
Right now, we're in a really good area with the safety position, especially when your second stringer (Luke Talich) would be a starter at most other programs.

Long story, but I switched doctors and the second recommended removing the plate and screws. Game changer. Two month later the ankle was back to about 80%. Today it's about 90% I would say.
