Kent State coming to ND in 2027.

The 2027 schedule is more weak than this season.

Kind of reminds me of when Rocket Ismail played for Notre Dame
Invincibility with no vulnerability

Until ND can’t make the playoffs b/c of its schedule, it’s not a bad strategy

Of course, it leaves little margin for error in games that do matter, and I do believe that teams that don’t face adversity have a hard time when it shows up in the playoffs.

I’m fine with it. It’s new reality. Like March Madness…it’s all about the playoff.

Play a couple of good teams and hopefully take your best shot in the playoffs.

March Madness = January Jam 🏈🏈🏈

Don’t hate the player, hate the game!

God bless & Go Irish 🍀🍀🍀

I concur. Our 2026 SOS is not horrible Currently ranked #42. Just can't afford a major upset.

As long as we stay relatively healthy, I like our chances.

I'd vote no. One or two big games a year now...possibly not if those teams happen to falter.

Aware that my view is certainly not gonna carry the day...but, in my opinion, this is already starting to suck in real time.

I guess what I am embracing is that the regular season is meant to qualify for the playoff. Kind of like in college, if you get to pick your electives, most people didn’t take Latin or Biomechanics.

I guess I’m saying I see where the puck is moving, I’m skating that way. Perhaps, things will change, but I think it’s going the NCAA hoops model…it’s all about the playoff…don’t get to ambitious in the regular season, there’s limited (little) upside to that, imho

God bless & Go Irish! 🍀

They'll hire Saban and be world beaters just before we play them.

it’s a total change. Conferences locking in 9 games and nobody wants to play tough games out of conference.

Our choice of staying independent is noble and supported by fan base but this is the downside. Lousy schedules with fillers all over the place. I used to bust PSU fans for playing kent state.

It’s all about the playoffs

I absolutely loved Hanratty and Theismann and their great personalties who were coached by Ara. Theismann always had to prove he wasn't too small and that actually made him great, along with his incredibly strong arm and his quick nimble feet. Hanratty was just an old school QB with guts and a very strong arm who ran decently too. A down to earth but really funny, warm guy, whose teammates loved him. He gave Ara so much respect. Lou, well all of his players grew as people and players.
