Made Practice Squad:
- Chris Smith (Lions) Devontae Smith (Panthers) Cross and Foskey (Bengals), Stroman and Pauling (49ers) Kiser (Jags)

- Cut Okwara-( Browns) Austin - (Saints, surprised he didnt make PS after a strong finish to last season), Aamil Wagner (Titans - didn't make PS, after a good camp....wish he had come back for his last year of elig.)

- Grupe to the Jets

    Wagner really got some bad advice, too bad he heeded it.

    Nobody had him going earlier than 5th round, if drafted at all. Perplexing decision to leave early, on many fronts.

      The major knock on Wagner wasn't his technique or athleticism.

      Both aspects were decently graded.

      The fact that he was playing at 290 lbs meant that he was considered too small to be a right tackle in the NFL. Those 250-260 lb defensive ends are now 270-290 lb monsters in the pros, and those 285 lb defensive tackles are now well over 300 lbs.

      He was pretty much maxed out at 290 lbs, since his frame is very slim for a OL, and there wasn't any more room to put on more muscle mass. If anything, he was having a hard time staying at 290 lbs, since most of the time, he was playing at 280-ish.

      I simply disagree with folks when they say he could have improved his stock by staying a year, since he wouldn't have been able to fix his "weak spot."

      The only pro-style offense I can see his being a good fit would be something like a West Coast Offense, but nobody runs a classical West Coast Offense anymore, except maybe Jim Harbaugh, and to a much lesser extent, Andy Reid.

        to be the starting right tackle on a national title contending team was a given. As you stated, he wasn't going to get big enough to compete at that level.

        Take that and move on to the next phase of your life because the NFL really wasn't a realistic probability given his size limitations.

        Like I said, he got bad advice from someone.
