2007 was the first year that I actually had a little bit of money to my name and had no real responsibilities in life so I hit up a bunch of games that year. Of course as my luck would have it, the first year I could go to multiple games was also one of the worst seasons of all time. Still, I went to the Penn State, UCLA, Boston College, and Air Force games that year.
The UCLA game was awesome actually. My first time at the Rose Bowl Bowl, Notre Dame playing crazy and USC getting upset by Stanford that night and the entire place joining in together to cheer.
Crum played out of his mind that night too and took home some defensive player of the week awards.
Always great to see former Notre Dame players rise in the coaching ranks since you never know when you'll need a new assistant.
He wasn't quite as athletically gifted as his old man (fearsome linebacker for the Miami Hurricanes, but Crum Jr. was definitely the smarter player, and he did a fine job for us.
If anything, other than Darius Walker, he was one of the few players from that awful 2004 class that actually did anything (I can only think of 6 in that whole class that actually played meaningful minutes).
