Notes from Lambeau

Phenomenal weekend. The city of Green Bay was a wonderful host and Badgers fans were great. Tailgating in a leafy residential yard, just a short walk from Lambeau, was surreal.

- I fully endorse Brandy Old Fashioneds being served in stadiums. It’s a Wisconsin thing, dontcha know, and I approve. You betcha.
- Kind of odd seeing the home videos being played as if it were a normal home game….in Wisconsin when we were playing….Wisconsin. Such is the dumb Shamrock Series. Would MUCH rather have done a home-home at ND-Camp Randall, but maybe that is just me as I am an old curmudgeon.
- The ‘Lou’ chant along with the 1812 Overture at the end of the 3rd quarter needs to end - now. It is dull and boring, a fact highlighted plain as day during the game. This is no disrespect to Lou, of course. They did the 1812 Overture - which put the stadium to sleep - followed by the iconic ‘Jump Around’ end of 3rd quarter. The entire stadium exploded during the first notes of Jump Around. Our own players went nuts and were dancing and high-fiving with one another. We desperately need a new and energetic end of 3rd quarter tradition.
- I am a Badgers fan after this weekend. Go Bucky! They could be set up for a good year - no IU, OSU or UM on the schedule. Can’t wait to see them take on Penn St.

GO IRISH!
