Currently, our running game is mid and, outside of Faison, our wrs and tes have had little yac (except the Burris catch and run during mop up duty).
In the past, we have had guys like Faison and Aneyas (freshman yr) who came out of nowhere to help the offense.
Do you think Quincy Porter (when healthy), Premer, or one of the freshman backs, or someone else could add some electricity to the offense?
I appreciate Aneyas' commitment to ND and he didn't have to stay and wait his turn, but I think allowing the younger RBs to get the bulk of the carries and using Aneyas more like when he was a freshman would bring more explosiveness to the run game.
I also think getting the OL back to full strength will help.
Our missing piece to make Denbrock's offense elite is a running QB. I'm glad Carr is NOT running, because it is a recipe for injury, but watching several of the best offenses last Sat. the common denominator were big runs by the QB. It kills a defense... we had it with Riley and are missing it this year.
That may be our achilles heel.
