I think it expires in 2033 and was set to run 30 years. He was fired in 2003.

My Dad and I were at this game, only green jerseys in a sea of red at the 25 yd line
Nebraska went up 21-7, then Jones returned a kick-off and then Joey returned a punt and it was tied in the 4Q. My pop and I were going nuts it was silence in our section. Then Bob Davie played for overtime and ND lost in overtime. Their fans left but were very quiet because they knew they had dodged a bullet.
In regards to their fans, nicest people I ever met at a game, this was a pilgrimage for these folks. Very nice, respectful, and knowledgeable fans. The pep rally for this game was in the stadium on Friday and from the 20 through endzone to the 20 was a sea of red(both sides) then all green and blue from 20 to 20 on each side. I think Nebraska was rated #1 in the country at the time and had a great option attack.

I was there too. I knew something was wrong during the ride in on the tollway.
It was unusually packed and most of it were Husker fans. ND fans selling out for cash then bragging about it on social media. ND was supposed to fix the problem. You can't fix greed. The Jones kick off return was a direct sprint down the sideline toward my section as was the game winning Husker TD by Eric Crouch unfortunately. SI had a picture of the Crouch score taken from behind with a clear view of the ND crowd in front of him. I was one of those in that crowd pic. LOL.

When Nebraska played at ND in 2000, some ND fans wore red jerseys that bore the legend:
N is for Knowledge.
