Better to have 1 SUPERSTAR WR & RB, or good depth at all the positions?

ND has probably the best depth at WR and RB in recent memory. I could argue that Bettis and Burris are starters in most years for ND. Faison, Greathouse, Gilbert, & Graham - we do not have an elite WR, but all are as good as we have had over the best years. And even though we do not have the home run hitters that we had in Love/Price; we have 5 RBs that could lead the team in yards if they were given a chance.

IS IT BETTER TO HAVE AN ELITE WR (like Miami who has Malachi Toney), or GREAT DEPTH to challenge a defense?

IS IT BETTER TO HAVE A TALENTED AND COMPETITIVE RB ROOM, or ONE ELITE BACK (like BSU with Jeanty)?

I just wonder if ND stays the path in recruiting of getting as much talent at WR/RB as possible, or if they put ALL of their chips in one basket and go for the ELITE WR or RB recruit that have slipped through our fingers over the past few recruiting cycles.
