The offense for the first three games looks like the first game last year. He still has training wheels on Carr. Stop forcing the running issue with Williams and start James and play Walton and Young more, especially in short yardage. Got to go under center more and run the ball to set up play action to your receivers and tight ends. Carr is not a runner, so go with his strengths.
We'll see how good the D is when we play some of the more offensive-minded teams like BYU, Miami and SMU, but I wouldn't be surprised if Denbrock isn't replaced next year. There's nothing dynamic about this offense.
The play action worked really well from shotgun on Saturday. Of course, MSU was keeping 7-8 in the box to stop the run, so it should have worked well.
Denbrock being Denrock, he didn't adjust to the 7-8 in the box and let Carr have a field day.
