I think Freeman may have also learned not to be too complicated on offense early in the season given early season losses to inferior opponents.

Which, if that's what Denbrock is doing, ok, but I am not convinced that's what he is doing. For example, if MSU was an intentional exercise in improving run blocking, developing James, and getting the ball to a receiver other than Faison, then cool beans. But, it's not clear to me that we entered the game with that intent so much as that's what we ended up doing against a middle to bottom tier Big 10 team that we can out-talent.

Adapting your offense to the talent is what a good coach does. A bad coach runs his scheme. And if our scheme is basically the 2023 UM scheme - run 80%; throw 20%, why bother keeping Carr rather than Minchey who is mobile and can throw? Doesn't make a lot of sense. Which is why I'm hoping there's more to this. I can also see Denbrock getting shown the door at the end of this season.

Pop Warner is much more difficult. You have parents, injury boo boos, crying kids, making sure all the players get their allotted playing time in, looking for a lost mouthpiece , your only QB won't make it because of a family wedding, making sure all your players make the weekly weight limit. Did I mention parents? Denbrock has it made.
