I don't see Kelly taking any coaching job. He would be basically working for free.
My understanding is any money he makes coaching a new team is money LSU can deduct from his paycheck. I don't buy that Kelly misses the game that much.

That seems a bit too much of low-hanging fruit for him, though.
I'm pretty sure there would be other, higher profile schools who would gladly tolerate his antics, just to get them back to a top 25 ranking.
Mike Norvell is probably getting the boot from Florida State after this season, barring some miraculous turnaround. That kind of miracle isn't going to happen, since they spent all of that NIL money and bought themselves a five and dime store quarterback (Ashton Daniels).
I can also say for certain, that the Florida State fanbase would happily shell out decent money to bring in Brian Kelly to right the ship.

"Rutgers president Bill Tate and athletic director Keli Zinn came to New Jersey after working at LSU, where Kelly had been the Tigers coach."
The only "buzz" is what the author invented, probably aided by Kelly's agent.

This is an invented story, created hype to keep his name in the media.
Kelly isn't going to go to Rutgers.

He’s not a bad coach. There will be better jobs available that he is capable of going 8-4 or 9-3 and being praised.

Rutgers is a black hole financially and can't compete in the NIL game.

This makes sense and would be a good hire.
We are not looking at this as Rutgers fans. Their program is stuck and going nowhere fast. BK does have a resume of turning programs around, including ND, and at Rutgers, he won't have the stress of undefeated seasons and national championships. I would hire him . After the UMass loss, I figured he might be headed to Rutgers or BC, another good fit. I want both programs to have success, if only for the young players.
