They're in damage control mode right now
Basically, Riley and Stephens gave their usual "regret the actions" speech.
Again, I strongly doubt anything else will come of this. The Big Ten brass are more like paper mache', and the big time donors to USC wouldn't be happy at suspending one of their best linebackers for more than a game.

LR’s response to the injury and his player was also reprehensible.

So If Reilly won’t suspend him then the AD or big 10 can’t or it makes Riley look bad?
Now that’s an argument against a suspension right there. Can’t have a coach that has a team with no discipline look bad now, can we?
